Abortion Panel at Mohonasen High School

On April 15th, 2010, FCLNY participated in an abortion panel at Mohonasen High School in Rotterdam, NY.  The panel consisted of representatives from Planned Parenthood, Feminists Choosing Life of New York and the Conference of Catholic Bishops.  Over 200 seniors attended the optional event with the majority of the students classifying themselves as pro-choice.  Following the event, FCLNY had an overwhelming number of students who visited our information table to comment that our arguments against abortion offered them a new perspective on the issue that gives them much to think about.

Former FCLNY Executive Director, Wendy McVeigh made the following statement at the outset of the event PDF Document (PDF)

About Us

Feminists Choosing Life of New York is a nonpartisan, nonsectarian organization that seeks to return to the grassroots of pro-life feminism. In the tradition of early American feminists, such as Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Feminists Choosing Life of New York operates from the core ideals of justice, nondiscrimination and nonviolence. We are an active voice for a consistent life ethic through our education, advocacy and outreach efforts, especially on college campuses. Feminists Choosing Life of New York aims to promote a culture in which women can choose life from conception to natural death.

Mission Statement

Feminists Choosing Life of New York is a pro-life, pro-woman organization that seeks to open minds to its philosophy of pro-life feminism, the belief that all people, by virtue of their human dignity, have a right to live without violence from conception to natural death.

Feminists Choosing Life was formerly a state chapter of FFLA
